GRAND MOUND — Glenn Lloyd Lichtenstein, 84, Grand Mound, Iowa, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Wheatland Manor, Wheatland, Iowa, after a short struggle with cancer. Glenn Lichtenstein was born April 4, 1923, in Calamus, Iowa to Paul and Marie (Schriener) Lichtenstein. He married Shirley Casad on July 12, 1942 in Grand Mound, Iowa. Shirley preceded him in death in 1986. He married Louise Fey on April 4, 1987, in Grand Mound.Glenn spent his working life as a local builder and master cabinetmaker. He started his business, Lichtenstein Construction, after serving as an Infantry Company Supply Sergeant during WW II. 0He entered the service in 1943 and served with the 341st Infantry – 86th Division in Germany and in the Philippine Islands.Surviving are his loving wife of 20 years, Louise; son, Ed Lichtenstein and wife Nathalie (Simon) of Grand Mound; daughter, Susan Wing and husband, Tom of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; Laurie Lichtenstein-Weston and husband, Chris of Brooklyn, New York; grandson, Joseph Lichtenstein of LeClaire, Iowa; granddaughters, Jessica (Stutzel) Lovette and husband, Steve of Charleston, South Carolina and Emily (Wing) Weidman and Michael of Cedar Falls, Iowa; five great grandchildren, three step-children and several step-grandchildren.Preceding Glenn in death were his first wife, Shirley; parents, Paul and Marie; brothers, Victor, Leroy and Jack.Friends and family may call at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2007. Funeral services will be 10:30 on Monday, December 24, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound, Iowa. Rev. Dennis Arndt will officiate.
