Obituary: The Clinton Herald Tuesday November 3, 1981 p. 9 Ethel L. Boyd, 92, formerly if 706 10th Ave. S., died Monday in Jane Lamb Hospital. She was a descendent of a Clinton area pioneer family and of Elijiah Buell, who was the first settler in the Lyons area. A family graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Oakland Cemetery, with the Rev. Leslie Pritchard of First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, Clinton. Miss Boyd was born Oct. 8, 1889, in Hampshire Township, Clinton County, to Clarence and Clara Hobein Boyd. She was office manager of Clinton Water Co. for many years, retiring in 1954. She was a lifelong resident of the Clinton area, a member of First United Presbyterian Church and Wa-tan-ye Club. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elsie Boyd of Clinton; and two nieces, Mrs. Joan Naftzger of Clinton, and Marilyn Boyd of Chicago, Ill. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
