The Clinton Herald Monday May 3, 1948 p. 14 Peter E. Eggers, 71, of 1005 North Second street, died at 6:25 p.m. Sunday in Jane Lamb hospital. Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Zion Lutheran church. The Rev. F.E. Schoenbohm, pastor of Zion Lutheran church will officiate. Burial will be in Center Grove cemetery, Elvira. Born April 22, 1877, in Hampshire township, he was the son of Peter and Anna Eggers. He married Mary Catherine Hansen, Dec. 16, 1903, in Clinton and after her death in 1935 married Adelia Ketelsen, March 26, 1937.

daughters, Mrs. Robert Barger of Davenport, Miss Florence E. of Davenport, Miss Marie of Denver, Col., Mrs. Howard Helscher of Rapids, Mrs. C.C. Kruse of Goose Lake and Miss Dorothy of Denver, three brothers, Claus of Clinton, Gus of Long Beach, Calif., and Herman of Clinton; four sisters, Mrs. J.L. Harksen of Clinton, Mrs. Hulda Tholen of Chicago, Mrs. Walter Wessel and Mrs. Pauline Stamp of Clinton; two step-children, Mrs. Phyllis Hines of San Diego, Calif., and Gilbert Ketelsen, of Clinton; four granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
