The Clinton Herald Friday January 7, 1916 p. 6 Mathias Lange, a resident of Clinton for the past 45 years, passed away at his home, 410 North Third steet at 10:15 o'clock last evening following an illness which had confined him to his bed since last October. Deceased was born in Itzehohe Holstein, Germany, November 28, 1837, and was 78 years of age at the time of his death. He lived in Germany until 1870 when he came directly to Clinton with his family. He was a carpenter by trade and followed his chosen vocation until he was forced to retire on account of old age. He leaves to mourn his death three daughters, Mrs. T.W. Fleming of California, Mrs. Charles Bell and Mrs. Adolph Dierksen of Clinton.
