CLINTON — Services for David Dale Mallinger, 85, of Clinton, will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Tom Hennen officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Lemke Funeral Homes, Lyons chapel. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Cemetery with the AMVETS conducting military rites. Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Parish. David passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.He was born January 25, 1922 in Barnsville, Minn., the son of Raymond and Merle (Eastman) Mallinger. He married Lucille Frett on November 23, 1947. She preceded him in death on May 15, 1954. He later married Myrtis Ann DeVoe on April 23, 1955 in Clinton. David was in the Army of the United States, serving with the 34th Infantry Division, HQ Battery, 151st Field Artillery. He obtained the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star. He has been employed at DuPont in the Chemical department.David was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was a Third degree knight in the Knights of Columbus, St. Edward’s council #707, Clinton. He also served as a Clinton County Soil and Water Federal Conservation District commissioner from 1995 to 2001. Surviving are his wife, Myrtis; daughter, Leigh Ann Mallinger of Clinton, and Jane (Gary) Madsen of Charlotte; sons, Donald (Susan) Mallinger of Clinton, and Patrick (Terri Jean) Mallinger of Gladstone, Mo.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Doris Weiland of Lowden, Iowa; and a brother, Leslie (Delores) Mallinger of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, two brothers and a brother-in-law.Death Date: Nov. 16, 2007
