FULTON, Ill. — Ellis A. Ottens, 91, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Ill., died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at the nursing home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at the Fulton Presbyterian Church in Fulton, Ill., with the Rev. Dr. Stanley Bomgarden, pastor of Fulton Presbyterian Church in Fulton, Ill., officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton, Ill. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, Ill.Memorials may be made to the Harbor Crest Nursing Home Wish List and Fulton Presbyterian Church Building and Grounds Fund. He was born April 15, 1916, in Morrison, Ill., to Claus and Elsie (Dykhuizen) Ottens.He attended Morrison schools. He married Edith M. Winter on March 18, 1944, in Wilmington, N.C. She died May 01, 2001. He served in the Army during WWII. Ellis worked a number of places, including Sterling Wire in Sterling, Ill., the city of Morrison, F. Mueller and Sons in Clinton, IA, and the Savanna Army Depot in Savanna, Ill. He was also a union carpenter, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church, Carpenters’ Local Union 678 of Dubuque, IA, and Fulton American Legion Post 402. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include one daughter, Marla (Mrs. Dan) Murphy of Davenport, IA; one son, Ken (Janice) Ottens of Fulton, Ill.; six grandchildren, Rachel Murphy-Kline, Luke and Paul Murphy, Erin DeVore; Katherine and Kristina Ottens; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Bush of Urbana, Ill., and Mrs. Pauline Dorathy of Avondale, Ariz.; and one brother, Stanley Ottens of Mt.
