LAS VEGAS — James R. Copeland, age 61, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Clinton, died Sunday, November 11, 2007, in Las Vegas. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17th at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Ron Lott officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military rites by the AMVETS. James was born on May 3, 1946, in California, the son of Drexel B. and Virginia Ann Poole Copeland. He married Linda Westenberger on January 11, 1969, in Clinton. James was a Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy retiring after 22 years of service including time served during the Vietnam War. He worked as an electrician following his time in the service. James enjoyed music having played in various bands and riding his Harley. James is survived by his wife, Linda, of Las Vegas; two children, Brian Copeland of Foley, AL, and Kari Aragon of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.Death date: Nov. 11, 2007
