PORT BYRON, Ill. — Ila Faye Wells, 93, of Port Byron died Thursday, November 8, 2007. at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Church of the Cross, Port Byron. Burial will be in Zuma Cemetery, Port Byron. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 7 PM at the Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Cross or St. Judeís Childrenís Hospital.The former Ila Faye Ashdown was born January 26, 1914, in Coe Twp, the daughter of Frank and Neva Woodward Ashdown. She married Harlan Wells on May 4, 1935, in Coal City, IL. He died on September 6, 2006. Faye raised chickens and delivered eggs throughout the Quad City area. She was a member of the Church of the Cross where she served as treasure for many years. She had been an election judge. She enjoyed gardening, reading, canning for the family and cooking family dinners.Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Leon Frick, Goose Lake, IA and Barbara and Randy Kline, Port Byron, sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Anita Wells, Dekalb, IL, Lanny Wells, Colona, IL, Kendal and Carol Wells, Branson West, MO and Bradley and Linda Wells, Port Byron, daughters-in-law, Cindy Wells, Port Byron and Linda Kirklin, East Moline, 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and a sister Wylma Searl, Silvis. She was preceded in death by sons, Gregory and Dr. Harlow Wells, sisters Beryl Spaid and Aletha Cox and a brother, Curtis Ashdown.Death date: Nov. 8, 2007
