Lind, Zelda I.

Zelda I. Lind, 77, of Camanche, died Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Eagle Point Nursing Home, Clinton. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ron Lott officiating. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be William Wruck, Robbie Wruck, Alexander Hinsch, Brandon Schurbon, Daniel Lind, Marvin Lind, and James Lind. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Proost, Angela Jones, Heather Lind, Stacia Rickertsen, Jayde Everson, Dominique Everson, Holly Lind, Aleah Hinsch, Allison Hinsch, and Trisha Everson. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.

Zelda I. Witt was born on July 12, 1930 in DeWitt, Iowa, the daughter of John and Ruth (Foss) Witt. She married Ronald “Marvin” Lind on September 3, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa; he later died April 9, 1978. She attended the Olive Township School in Grand Mound. Marv and Zelda Lind together owned Marv’s Skelly in Camanche from 1975 through 1978; After Marv passed, she was employed with PFC for 10 years as a processor. Zelda enjoyed traveling and her hobbies were baking, crocheting and bowling. She also enjoyed watching golf and the Cubs play on television.

She is survived by five daughers: Diana (Morris) Wruck, of Delhi, Iowa; Judith (Frank) Proost, Jo (Mark) Schurbon, Tracy (Richard) Everson, and Joni (Thomas) Hinsch all of Camanche, Iowa; and two sons: Weston (Sharon) Lind and Perry (Sue) Lind, both of Camanche, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter and four step-great-grandchildren; five sisters: Lola Johnson of Clinton, Iowa, Margaret Hazlett of Cordova, Illinois, Doris Baty of Atlanta, Georgia, Marlene Hagen of Yuma, Arizona, and Melinda Rasmussen of Clinton, Iowa; one brother: Gary Witt of Orlando, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Ruth Witt, her husband, R. Marvin Lind, one son, Rex Lind, one brother Morton Witt, and one great-granddaughter, Corinna Lind.
