Bailey, Edwin Theodore

Edwin Theodore Bailey, 74, of Clinton, passed away Sunday at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Bethel AME Church with Rev. Van Flowers officiating the service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Lemke Funeral Home-Lyons Chapel, 2304 N. 2nd St., Clinton, there will also be a one hour visitation prior to Funeral Services on Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Ryan, Antonio, Jonathan, and Edwin Bailey, Bruce Powell, and Danny Brown.

Edwin was born on September 17, 1933 in Atlanta, GA to James E. and Allie B. (Rodgers) Bailey. He attended school in Pikeville, Kentucky. Edwin married Hazel Honaker on November 24, 1962 in Pikeville, KY. He was employed with Climax Foundry, and Alcoa as a foreman until his retirement in 1998. Edwin was a member of Bethel AME Church. In his free time Edwin loved to fish, watch wrestling, playing football and baseball, he especially loved his dog Missy.

Edwin is survived by four daughters, Pamela Bailey and Jacqueline Bailey both of Clinton, Gwendolyn (Franklin) Harris of Portsmouth, OH, and Mildred (Durrant) Graham of Boston Lincolnshire, England, two sons, Tony (Sandy) Bailey of Disputanta, VA, and Kenneth “Bubba” Bailey of Clinton, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mildred Moon of Clinton, and Edna (David) Barner of Oakland, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, three sisters, and one brother.

Memorials can be made to the Eagle Point Nursing Home.
