The Clinton Herald Monday February 22, 1937 p. 5 Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Metzger, 68, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage in her home, 2356 North Fifth street, Saturday, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Lutheran church by the Rev. J.F. Schulz. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Martha Dorothea Ehlers was born July 2, 1869, the daughter of Peter and Wilhelmina Ehlers, near Bryant. She was married to Edward Metzger, April 4, 1888. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran congregation. Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Elma Wilson and Florence Metzger of Chicago, Ill,; a son, Percy E. Metzger, a brother, August Ehlers, and a grandson, Frederick Metzger, all of Clinton, and a brother, Albert Ehlers, of Aurora, Ill.
