SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, with the Rev. Bob Burton, pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church, officiating.

MORRISON, Ill. — Stanley E. Moews, 81, of Morrison, died Thursday at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison.Inurnment and graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown, Ill., with the Rev. Gary Lawler, pastor of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Morrison, officiating.Pallbearers will be Kent DeMay, Bill Moews, Doug Moews, Jim Moews, Kelly Little and Larry Prindaville.

He was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Prophetstown, Ill., to Frank A. and Anna E. Pletsch Moews. He married Una M. Seyller on April 18, 1951, in Henry County, Ill. He then married Marjorie H. Young McDougall on Aug. 1, 1969, in Morrison.He was educated in Prairie View schools, rural Whiteside County, and graduated from Prophetstown High School. He also graduated from DeForest Radio and TV Service in 1952 and the G.E. Engineering Training program.He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.He was an application specialist with General Electric before retiring n 1989 after 33 years of employment.He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Prophetstown Lodge 293 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Illinois and SPEBSQBA.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; three daughters, Rhonda (Ron) Hulteen of Sterling, Ill., Jacqueline Davis of Fairfield and Margo (David) Fairbanks of Gladstone, Mich.; three stepdaughters, Andrea (Tom) Dalton of Morrison, Adele (Ron) Nye of Morrison and Alicia (Dean) Burkholder of Morrison; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
