Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. There will be an additional visitation Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. James Chappell and Deacon Bob Head officiating. Maquoketa.

MAQUOKETA — Arla Faye Medinger, 77, of Maquoketa, died Friday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa.

She was born Jan. 12, 1930, in rural Buckhorn to Henry and Martha Durkop Nienkark. She married Vincent Medinger on Oct. 18, 1958, in her earlier years, she worked at Fish and Tackle and Clinton Engines in Maquoketa. She later was a homemaker.She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Michele Medinger of Maquoketa; two sons, Jeff (Jill) Medinger of Maquoketa and Craig (Christa) Medinger of Lombard, Ill.; one grandchild; one sister, Vera Sheldon of Oxford Junction; and several nieces and nephews.
