Rude, Ruby Eunice

Ruby Eunice Rude, 91, passed away at her home Sept. 11 in Bremerton, WA after a lingering illness.She was born to Albert Burk and Anna (Grosz) May 3, 1916 in Beltrami, MN.She married Harold Rude on July 6, 1935 in Grand Forks, ND. They were married until his passing in 1956.After her husband’s death, she moved to Bainbridge Island, WA with her three children.Over the years, she worked as a waitress, a case worker in Bremerton, WA and a timber watch in Sultan, WA. She also worked as a housekeeper at various times which included cooking and care for the late George C. Curtis of Curtis Lumber and Mrs. Frances Bickelhaupt of Bickelhaupt Arboritum, both in Clinton.She especially enjoyed being with her family, going out to dinner, and playing slots at the casino.She is survived by her son, Dale Rude (Ginger) of Seattle; Della Horst (George) of Miles, IA; son, Rex-zane Rudee (Pam) of Bremerton; eight grand children, Terry Rude (Darlene) of Lynnwood, Tammy Rude of Seattle, Cindy Rude of Seattle, Larry Rude of Allyn, Georgie Horst Lauritzen of Preston, IA, Shannon Rudee Koepp (Geoff) of Kent, Quinn Rudee (Gamze) of Burien, Tarynn Rudee Playle (Brendan) of Des Moines, WA; and five great grandchildren, Nikki Rude of Seattle, Kristi Rude of Seattle, Austin Rude of Lynnwood, Corey Rude of Allyn, and Jenna Lauritzen of Preston, IA.A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the family home, 2847 Hayton St, Bremerton, WA 98310.
