The Clinton Herald Monday April 24, 1978 p. 11 Walter E. Arlen, 81, formerly of 441 4th Ave. S., died Sunday in the Alverno. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Kinnamon, Doug Hilgendorf, Don Kecker, Steve and Mark Arlen and Ed Meeker. Visitation will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Delaney Funeral Home with the parish Rosary said at 7 p.m. Mr. Arlen, the son of Charles A. and Anna Godskesen Arlen married Margaret Luckiesh in Clinton. He was the owner and operator of M. and A. Shoe Store for many years and president of the Chamber of Commerce in 1929. Mr. Arlen was past commander of the American Legion and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, Walter A. (Jack), Clinton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife.
