Ferd Witt, 90, of DeWitt died January 27 at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30 (today) at Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt, with the Rev. J. Elmer Brunk of United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Visitation was held Friday, 3-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Kenny Rohwedder and Larry, Doug, Duane, Steve and Dennis Witt. Ferd Witt was born May 12, 1902, in McCausland to Henry and Lena Mohr Witt. He married Adeline Dammann June 8, 1929, in Davenport. She died in 1972. He married Marge Burken in 1975. She died in 1978.

He retired after 32 years of farming and in 1962 moved to DeWitt. He attended activities of the senior citizens and loved playing cards.

Survivors include daughters, June (Mrs. Fred) Nordan of Fayette, N.C., Gladys (Mrs. Norman) Rohwedder of Durant; sons, Henry of Davenport, Wesley of Charlotte, Edward of DeWitt and Alferd of Delmar; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five grandchildren, six brothers and six sisters.
