SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Community Church, Maquoketa, with Pastor Nathan Combs officiating.
MAQUOKETA — Thelma V. Davis, 80, of Maquoketa, died Saturday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.
She was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Ohio to Clinton R. and Sylvia Varner Koontz. She married Donald “Don” Davis Sr. on Aug. 25, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo.
She was educated in Iowa.
She first worked with Dole’s Supermarket in Michigan and then with the Clinton Pudding Factory. She was a homemaker and in 1965 worked with Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for one year.
She was a former member of the Joinerville Boat Club.
Survivors include her husband; children, Mary (Joe) Marcov of Dubuque, Donald “Butch” (Julie) Davis Jr. of Eldridge, Ronald (Sue) Davis of Davenport, Nancy (Dave) Moore of Maquoketa and David (Carla) Davis of Toronto, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Alma) Koontz of Maquoketa, Bill (Mavis) Koontz of Calamus and James (Judy) Koontz of Manilla, Iowa; and sisters, Mary Ann Heneke of Strawberry Point and Donna Benedict of Davenport.
A Thelma V. Davis Memorial Fund has been established.
