SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hope United Methodist Church in Chadwick, Ill., with the Rev. Dave Davies officiating.

MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Christine Vos, 84, of Mount Carroll, Ill., died Thursday at her home.

Inurnment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Ill.

She was born in Mora, Minn., on Oct. 6, 1922, to John and Christine Wilkens Vandermyde. She married DuWayne Vos on April 24, 1942, in Morrison.

She graduated from Edison High School with the class of 1939 and later went to cosmetology school in Rockford, Ill.

She worked at General Electric for 18 years.

She was a longtime member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, where she also taught Sunday School. She was a member of Home Extension and served on the Carroll County Council on Aging Board.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Gordon (Joan) Vos of Chadwick, Ill.; two daughters, Faye (David) Livermore of Galesburg, Ill., and Ellen (Robert) Etien of Bella Vista, Ark.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Elizabeth (Fred) VenHuizen of Muscoda, Wis.; one half brother John (Darlene) Vandermyde of Minneapolis; and three half sisters Janice (Robert) DeVries, of Minneapolis, Sharon (Don) St. Germain of St. Paul, Minn., and Mary (Ollie) Frederick of Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to Christian Children’s Fund, World Vision or Rock River Hospice, 264 IL Route 2, Dixon, IL 61021.
