The Clinton Herald Vol. XLVII No. 127 Saturday May 27, 1916 p. 8 Mrs. Caroline Jess, aged 75 years, widow of the late Carl Jess, died at her home in Andover at 10:45 o'clock Friday evening, following an illness of two months, with heart trouble. She was born in Germany August 30, 1840. With her husband she came to this country some thirty years ago, and moved to Andover. Left to mourn her death are one son, August Jess of Teeds Grove, and two daughters, Mrs. Fred Lillienthal of Atlanta and Mrs. August Boysen of Andover. The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home, in charge of Rev. Hugo Grimm of St. John's Lutheran church.
