The Clinton Herald Monday July 2, 1962 p. 12 G.E. (Doc) Bickelhaupt, 77, 845 5th Ave. S., retired Clinton businessman, died Sunday night about 6 p.m. at Jane Lamb Hospital. Bickelhaupt, who had been a resident for the last 48 years, was in the automobile business here until 1937 when he retired. Friends may call at the Bragonier-Fay funeral chapel, where services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Dr. H.J. Rendall, of Morrison, Ill., will officiate. Rose Croix services will be conducted in connection with the services. Burial will be in the Rose of Sharon mausoleum in Clinton Memorial Park. He was born Jan. 25, 1885 in Mt. Carroll, Ill. to George F. and Louis Lambert Bickelhaupt. He was married in Savanna, Ill. Oct. 2, 1911 to Alma Zinnel. He had been a member of Cyrus Lodge 1888, A.F. and A.M., Mount Carroll, Ill.; DeMolay Consistory; Kaaba Shrine; Clinton Shrine Club; O.E.S. No. 65; Elk's Club; Izaak Walton League; Clinton Country Club; United Commercial Travelers; Clinton Chamber of Commerce and Clinton Development Co. Surviving are his wife; one son, Robert E., of Clinton; two grand-daughters; one brother, Charles of Mount Carroll, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
