Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Union Presbyterian Church, Lost Nation. Lahey Funeral and Cremation Services, Lost Nation, is in charge of arrangements

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Paul Skelley officiating

LOST NATION — Mary L. Dake, 54, of Lost Nation and formerly of Maquoketa, died Thursday at her home.

Burial will be in Smithtown Cemetery, Lost Nation.

Pallbearers will be Jeff and Gretchen Banowetz, Jerry and Kerry Dake, Jay Hartnett and Russ Scott.

She was born on May 24, 1952, in Davenport to David and Lila Machande Dake.

She graduated from Lost Nation High School in 1970.

She worked with Bob the Florist, Selk’s Flowers and Brenda’s Flowers. In 2001, she started Flower Girls in Lost Nation with her daughter. She also co-owned the Lost Nation General Store and worked at the Pub Club in Lost Nation.

She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Menzo-Widle Auxiliary, Lost Nation.

Survivors include one daughter, Gretchen Banowetz of Delmar; one son, Jeff (Jennifer) Banowetz of LaFarge, Wis.; three grandchildren; her mother, Lila Dake of Lost Nation; and two sisters, Nancy (Bob) Hertner of Lost Nation and Judy Hartnett of Webster City; and one brother, Jerry Dake of Lost Nation.

She was preceded in death by one brother in infancy, her father and a brother-in-law.
