Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, Morrison. Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, is in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

MORRISON, Ill. — Domitilla E. Herrig Cerjan died Tuesday.

She was born May 18, 1920, to Joseph and Elizabeth Tuberty Molloy in Albert Lea, Minn. She married Dr. Joseph Herrig on Sept. 1, 1942. He died in 1956. She then married Anthony M. Cerjan in 1957. He died in 1997.

She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1937 and received a bachelor’s degree from Winona State Teachers College.

She taught English literature at Morrison High School from 1970 until her retirement in 1982. Prior to teaching in Morrison, she taught at Dubuque Senior and Hempstead high schools, Dubuque, and Andrew High School.

Survivors include her children, Jane (Dan) Melton of Bellevue, Charles (Janet) Herrig of Cottage Grove, Minn., Susan (Bill) De Souza of Wentzville, Mo., and Margaret (Gary) Weidler of St. Simons Island, Ga.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the The Domitilla Cerjan Scholarship Fund to be set up at Morrison High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one daughter.
