Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way, Clinton for C.J. Hitchcock, 84, of Charlotte who died Friday in his home.
Visitation will be today at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28.
Pallbearers will be Greg Eastman, Greg Alm, Jeff Williams, Curt Petersen and James Lane.
A memorial fund will be established.
C.J. Hitchcock was born March 16, 1922 in Jackson County to Harvey and Eda (Milder) Hitchcock.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, in the Tank Destroyer Battalion, #841.
On December 31, 1966 he married Elnora Meewes in Milan, IL.
He retired as a Sheet Metal Worker, and also farmed in the Charlotte area.
He was a member of Blue Grass American Legion, Sheet Metal Workers Local #91, and he was a Mason with Masonic Lodge #221, Davenport.
Survivors include his daughter Marcia (James) Cady, of Downers Grove, IL, 1 sister Margie (Dale) Koch, of Clinton, and 2 grandchildren, Mackenzie and Nathan Cady.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
