Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Burton, pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, officiating.

MORRISON, Ill. — Dale A. Burkholder, 71, of Morrison, died Sunday at his home.

Interment will be in West Genesee Cemetery, Coleta, Ill.

He was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Morrison to Donald L. and Annie G. Habben Burkholder. He married Yvonne R. Doorenbos on Oct. 10, 1955, in Morrison.

He was educated in rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1953 graduate of Morrison High School.

He was employed with E.I. Dupont, Clinton, for three years. He farmed in the Denrock area from 1958 to 1960 and the Round Grove area from 1960 to 1981. He was also was employed with General Electric, Morrison, before retiring in January of 1996.

In 1981, he and his family moved to Morrison.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debra (Patrick) Graeve of Omaha, Neb., and Deann (Rodney) Van Zuiden of Morrison; four sons, Dean (Alicia) Burkholder of Morrison, David (Dawn) Burkholder of Bryant, Daryl (Laurie) Burkholder of Morrison and Daniel (Cyndi) Burkholder of Camanche; mother, Annie Burkholder of Morrison; 12 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; one sister, Diana (Paul) Griener of Portage, Wis.; and one brother, Dennis (Arlene) Burkholder of Morrison.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, Clinton, or Holden Cancer Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
