SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Lemke Funeral Homes, Lyons Chapel, 2304 N. Second St., is in charge of arrangements.
CLINTON — Elizabeth “Betty” Mayer, 88, of Clinton, died Thursday at the Alverno Health Care Facility.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Erin Belcher, Drew Belcher, Sara Mayer, Joseph Mayer, Elizabeth Saloom, Shahin Saloom and Ilyas Saloom.
She was born June 19, 1918, in Olwein to Leo T. and Anna E. Delker Kerwin. She married Alan Mayer on April 15, 1941, in Olwein. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.
She was a member of the church, PEO and Mercy Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Anne (Joseph) Saloom of Alexandria, Va., and Susan (Deane) Belcher of Ames; two sons, Alan Mayer Jr., of St. Paul, Minn., and Thomas (Carmen) Mayer of Kansas City, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
