Death of an Aged Resident

Jacob GEIGER Passes Away at His Home Yesterday Morning at 8 O'clock.

Jacob GEIGER, one of the oldest residents residing in the city of Clinton passed away yesterday at his residence on Third Avenue after an illness lasting for several months.

Born in Bavaria, February 14, 1835, he came to this country when about twenty three years of age to try his fortune in the far west.

Shortly after arriving in this country he moved to the city of Clinton where he has been engaged in the tailoring business for the past years.

Mr. GEIGER was well known in the city and was always esteemed for his business like way of carrying on his business.

He is survived by his wife, daughter Bertha, who is Mrs. L. LEADER of Cedar Rapids, and two sons, William and Charles.

The funeral services will be held from the home on Third avenue Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the services being in charge of the A. O. U. W. of which he was an honored member.
