SERVICES: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Savanna Township Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Bigelow, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Savanna, officiating. Law-Jones Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

SAVANNA, Ill. — Marjorie A. Onken, 79, of Savanna, died Friday at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna.

She was born Aug. 27, 1927, in Lyndon, Ill., to Clark and Alma Wagenecht Rosenow. She married Donald J. Onken on Nov. 27, 1947, at Hopkins Lutheran Church, rural Sterling, Ill. He died in 1996.

She graduated from Lyndon High School in 1945.

She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Savanna.

Survivors include one sister, Mildred Van Oosten of Morrison; one brother, Raymond Rosenow of Prophetstown, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231, or the American Cancer Society, Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, in her name.
