HOT SPRINGS, S.D. — Harold T. “Tom” Gee, 82, of Hot Springs and formerly of Monmouth and Maquoketa, died Friday in Hot Springs.
Burial was in The State Veterans Home Crematory, South Dakota.
He was born Sept. 24, 1924, to Howard and Olga Thompson Gee.
He attended Monmouth schools.
He served in the U.S. Army. He served in the European Theater as an infantry machine gunner. He served in Central Europe and Campaign Rhineland in Germany. He received the EAME Ribbon, Good Conduct, Campaign Central Europe and Campaign Rhineland medals and three service stars.
After the war, he worked in the Chicago area for many years until the early 1990s.
Survivors include two nieces, one nephew and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
