Kathleen “Kay” C. Koenes

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Father Anthony Herold, pastor of the Prince of Peace Parish, will be officiating.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

FULTON, Ill. — Kathleen “Kay” C. Koenes, 82, of Fulton, died Saturday at her home.

Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery.

She was born July 22, 1924, in DeWitt to Frank and Loretta Naughton McDevitt. She married Alvin J. Koenes on Feb. 15, 1947, in Davenport. He died in 1999.

She attended Goose Lake grade schools and graduated from Goose Lake High School.

During World War II, she was a welder with Allied Steel, Clinton, and later worked with General Electric, Morrison, where she retired.

Survivors include one son, John (Joan) Koenes of Fulton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Cleo “Mac” (Tootie) McDevitt of Clinton; and one sister, Mrs. Mildred Drummond of Davenport.

Memorials may be made to Golden Meals in Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one brother and five sisters.
