Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with a 4 p.m. rosary service.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. James Chappell and Deacon Bob Head officiating.
MAQUOKETA — Donna Marie Myers, 80, of Maquoketa, died Thursday at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.
Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Batey, Joseph Filip, Tom Myers, Austin Myers, Kyle Mackenthun and Clint Luetkehans.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Koon, Don Henningsen and Bob Luckey
She was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Rock Island, Ill., to Patrick “Joe” and Mary Moore Dowdal. She married Harold “Hal” Myers on April 26, 1947, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Davenport.
She and her husband moved to Maquoketa in 1953, where Harold operated a gas station and Donna worked for the telephone company. She later worked at the Sears Catalog Store, Goodenow and Wright Law Firm and the Maquoketa School lunch program.
She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Jackson County Welcome Center.
Survivors include her husband; children, Cynthia (Bill) Fender of Moline, Ill., Tim (Ava) Myers of Pulaski, Wis., Mary Jo Filip of Sequin, Texas, Terri (Daryl) Mackenthun of Griffith, Ind., and Kelly Myers of Maquoketa; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Sallie Hostetler of Bettendorf; and sisters-in-law, Marjorie Chadwell of Davenport and Midge Deihl of North Fort Myers, Fla.
