SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, Spragueville, with the Rev. Dwaine Priebe officiating.
SPRAGUEVILLE — Hazel M. Kemp, 68, of Spragueville, died Monday at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.
Burial will be in Spragueville Lutheran Cemetery.
She was born July 25, 1938, to Harold and Elsie Kurst Floyd. She married James L. Kemp on July 3, 1958, at First Lutheran Church, Maquoketa.
She was a nurse’s Aide with Flagel Nursing Home, Maquoketa, for many years. She also worked with her husband delivering the Clinton Herald in the Preston area.
Survivors include her husband; six sons, James L. (Barb) Kemp Jr. of Maquoketa, David C. Kemp and Bruce W. Kemp, both of Maquoketa, Craig C. (Jackie) Kemp of Clinton and Larry K. Kemp and Steve L. Kemp, both of Spragueville; four daughters, Susan M. Slager of Spragueville, Karen A. Friend of Dubuque, Carla K. (Duane) Poll of Bellevue and Pamela S. Kemp of Spragueville; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond (Janice) Floyd of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Bonnie (Bob) Ellithorpe of Maquoketa, Gladys (Mike) Verhulst of Ottumwa, Barb (Ron) Holden of Andrew and Judy Floyd of Oxford Junction; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established in her name.
