Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

SERVICES:10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Morrison, preceded by a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service at the church. The Rev. Mike Winkelman, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, will be officiating.

MORRISON, Ill. — Herbert J. Badtke, 87, of Morrison, died Wednesday at Morrison Community Hospital.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.

He was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Low Moor to Frank A. and Anna W. Bier Badtke. He married Althea A. Beveroth on Oct. 19, 1941, in Morrison. She died in 1995.

He moved north of Morrison and attended Cobb Grade School in rural Whiteside County, Ill.

He and his wife farmed in the Ustick Township, Ill., area for 38 years before moving to Morrison in 1979.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Morrison. He served as Ustick Township trustee for 20 years, was charter member of the National Cattlemen’s Association, member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau and served on the AG Advisory Committee at Morrison High School.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Barbara) Badtke of Sterling, Ill., and Dennis Badtke; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marge (Dwight) Kettler of Morrison.

Memorials will be established.
