Marvin C. Burmeister

LOST NATION — Marvin C. Burmeister, 89, of Lost Nation, died Saturday at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in Lost Nation Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lance, Jason and Troy Feuss, Robert Dickman, David Sterk, Lon Zeller, Robert, Colin, Logan Feuss and Wilbur Pithan.

He was born Nov. 26, 1916 in Clinton County to Emil C. and Augusta Berner Burmeister. He married Wilma Leinbaugh on June 28, 1941, in Lost Nation. She died in 1986. He then married Ethel Sterk on Sept. 2, 1989, in Lost Nation.

He attended Clinton County rural schools.

He farmed in Baldwin and Lost Nation.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; one daughter, Diane (Gary) Feuss of Lost Nation; one stepdaughter, Ellen Dickman of Borrego Springs, Calif.; one stepson, Emmett Sterk of Ames; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; six great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
