Violet E. Wiepert, 84, of Davenport died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at the Iowa Masonic Home in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 11:30 am at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 pm at Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, IA. Memorials may be made to the family for a permanent memorial for Violet.
Violet was born July 18, 1922 in Preston, IA, the daughter of Jacob and Dolly (Robbins) Newsom. She was united in marriage to Herbert Wiepert on September 6, 1941 in Kahoka, MO, they divorced. She married Richard Leptien on October 8, 1971 in Rock Island, they later divorced. She was employed for the Collis Co. in Clinton for many years before moving to the Davenport area where she worked at Meadowlawn Nursing Home and the Davenhill Crest/St Katherine’s Living Center before retiring. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include daughters, Verna Lynch, Clinton, IA, Brenda (Dan) Jobst, Bettendorf, Linda Wiepert, Davenport, grandchildren: Christopher and fiancé, Chasity, Erica and fiancé, Jamie, Ashley and fiancé, John, Jenna, Chelsea and Hannah, great grandchildren: Jacob, Alicia, Joshua, Isabella and Javier, sisters, Vilene Borgman, Ark., Irene Wright, No. Carolina, and a brother, Jacob Newsom of Clinton, IA. Her parents, son, Edward Jacob and a brother, Milton preceded her in death.
