The Clinton Herald Friday June 14, 1940 p. 5 Mrs. Clem Holdgrafer, 55, of 2804 North Third street, Clinton county resident all her life, died at 8 o'clock last evening in her home. The Rev. Henry Sendbuehler will celebrate the requiem high mass at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Boniface church and burial will be in St. Boniface cemetery. The body reposes in the family residence. Louise Droste was born Dec. 10, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Droste. She was educated in her parish parochial school. Clem Holdgrafer and Miss Droste were married Feb. 5, 1907, in St. Boniface church. She was a worker in the parish Rosary society. Surviving are the widower, three daughters Mrs. Kenneth (Anna) Johnson, Mrs. Carl (Bernice) Unruh and Miss Gertrude Holdgrafer, and three sons, Edward, Henry and Raymond Holdgrafer all of this community; one sister, Mrs. Henry Holdgrafer of Wiliams; five brothers, Herman Droste of Williams, William of Sterling, Ben of Rock Falls and Henry and Louis of Clintono; three grandchildren Buddy, Catherine and Grace Holdgrafer of Clinton, and other relatives.
