Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth. A rosary service will begin at 8 p.m.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Elizabeth, with the Rev. Chris Kuhn officiating.

ELIZABETH, Ill. — Betty I. Kahl, 79, of Elizabeth, died Friday at Elizabeth Nursing Home.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 13, 1926, in East Dubuque, Ill., to Walter and Agnus Roth Tupper. She married Miles H. Kahl on May 8, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Elizabeth.

She graduated from Elizabeth High School.

She and her husband resided at Craig Manor in Hanover, Ill., and moved to a remodeled schoolhouse in Weston, Ill., in 1955. She moved to Elizabeth in 1965.

She worked at Burgess Battery, Freeport, Ill., Hanover Woolen Mills, Savanna (Ill.) Army Depot and the Elizabeth Nursing Home.

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Hanover and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Connie (Steve) Bogart of Baker City, Ore., Jeanette Biava of DeKalb, Ill., and Janice (Ted) Rinehart of Freeport, Ill.; one son, James (Connie) Kahl of Durand, Ill.; six grandchildren; and one niece.
