Eileen Elizebeth Mallary

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton, with the Rev. John Stack officiating.

CLINTON — Eileen Elizebeth Mallary, 92, of Clinton, died Thursday at Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility, Clinton.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers include John Clausen, Ben Clarke, Jim Lazaro, Phillip and Nathan Blong and Casey, David and Michael Mallary.

She was born Aug. 14, 1913, in Clinton, to Peter and Lillian Brandt Golden. She married Lyle Mallary on Feb. 14, 1935, at Mount St. Clare Chapel.

She graduated from the Mount St. Clare Academy and also attended Mount St. Clare College, Augustana College and received a bachelor’s degree from Marycrest College.

She was involved with St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she was in the choir and various parish activities.

While teaching at Albany (Ill.) Grade School, she and and her husband operated a melon farm. After the sale of the farm, she and her husband spent three years as missionaries in Brazil. Following their return, they resided in Clinton. She spent many years volunteering playing the organ and singing for churches and nursing homes in Clinton.

Survivors include her children, L. Peter (Pauline) Mallary of Atlanta, Paul Mallary of Algona, Wash., John (Aviva) Mallary of Panama City, Fla., M. Brigid (Hernan) Lazaro of Downers Grove, Ill., Michael Mallary of Rock Island, Ill., Martha (Don) Blong of Panama City, Fla., and Margaret (Edward) Gaudet of DeWitt; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one grandchild.
