Ruby O. Holub

WYOMING, Iowa — Ruby O. Holub, 94, of Wyoming died Saturday at the Anamosa Care Center.

Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 19, 1912, in rural Olin to Forest Dallas and Edna Olive Miller Carl. She married Lumir Martin Holub on Sept. 26, 1934, in West Liberty. He died in 1999.

She attended school in Davenport, Anamosa and Moulton. She graduated from Onslow High School.

She lived most of her life in Appanoose and Jones counties.

She was a member of Wyoming United Methodist Church serving as a board member, president of the U.M.W., taught Sunday school for several years and was a leader of the P.M. Circle and its activities. She also was a member of the Midland Homemakers, So and Sew Club, Jones County Farm Bureau Women, Wyoming Over 60 Club and was an organizer of the Wyoming Polly Pigtails 4-H Club.

She was a homemaker.

She sold Stanley Home Products and Avon for many years.

Survivors include four daughters, Nancy (Arvene) Doering of Hubbard, Barbara (Donald) Mackey of Tipton, Connie (John) Burhop) of Oxford Junction and Melody (Richard) Nelms, of Clinton; one foster daughter, Bonnie (Todd) Swick of Tipton; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Carl of Lowden; and one sister-in-law, Betty Carl of Anamosa.
