Zephyrhills, Fla.

John Dresler, 85, a former DeWitt and Lost Nation area resident, died Thursday in Zephyrhills, Fla., where he had lived the past eight years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the McGinnis funeral home. Rev. Gerald Petsch, of Grace Lutheran church in DeWitt will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Dresler was born in Grand Mound on Oct. 4, 1882, the son of Peter and Johanna Ruits Dresler. He farmed in the Lost Nation area for many years until moving to DeWitt where he was engaged in carpenter work. He retired in 1960 and went to Florida to make his home with a niece, Mrs. Genevieve Martinson, a former DeWitt resident.

Surviving, besides the niece, is one brother, Albert of Chatfield, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother.
