Duane M. Cheeseman, 78, of Mount Carroll, died Thursday at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Mount Carroll, with the Rev. Bob Ziebarth officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the church. The Law-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Jan. 19, 1929, to Charles and Grace Diehl Cheeseman in Shannon, Ill.
He graduated from Shannon High School.
He married LaVona F. Phillips on Sept. 17, 1950, at First Baptist Church, Mount Carroll.
He served in the U.S Army for two years.
He was a member, trustee and head usher at First Baptist Church, Mount Carroll, for 18 years.
He worked with Fullerton Lumber Yard, Freeport, Ill., for 28 years before retiring in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; and one daughter, Mrs. Pamela (Paul) Gautreau of Beemer, Neb.
