Three Men Believed to
Have been Drowned
~
CLINTON, IOWA, Oct. 9 – Two young men named David John and Clarence Bates, and a married man named R. Clapp, went fishing Thursday morning and have not been seen since. A sail, net and oars being found in the river, leaves no doubt that all were drowned. Clapp leaves a wife and child.
