The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 23, 1891
A new industry in Clinton, which gives promise of wholesaling and manufacturing industry, as a liquid shoe polish, put up by the B. C. Shoe Polish Company. The company is already putting up large quantities of it and was busy Wednesday, when an AGE reporter called at the laboratory, filling an order for five gross from a St. Louis house. The liquid is put up in 3 ½ oz. square bottles, one dozen in a case. It is said to be an excellent shoe dressing and very fine for harnesses also. George Bacon is the chemist and one of the backers of the enterprise.
