Wagon Bridge 1882

The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 13, 1882

Our neighbors up at Dubuque are reviving the project of building a wagon bridge across the Mississippi River at that point. They have appointed a committee to lay the matter before the Secretary of War at Washington. By the way, how is the Clinton wagon bridge? Has anyone heard that anybody was going to build it and make it present to our people? Perhaps if we wait long enough somebody will do that very thing. Who knows?
