As administrator of the estate of Mr. Bert Shattuck, who was killed in a railway accident at Albany about eight months ago, M. R. Doran has brought suit in the circuit court of Whiteside County against the C. M. & St. Paul Railroad Company for $10,000 damages.

A number of saloon-keepers were indicted for keeping their saloons open on school election day. The Court overruled a motion to quash the indictments and the general law included school election days, and the men who have violated it will have to pay their fines. – Fulton Journal
