Clinton, Iowa, February 3, 1900A Possible Murder
The body found along the Milwaukee Road at the end of the bridge near Sabula has been identified as the remains of J. J. Smith of Clarksville. The top of his head was crushed. The theory is that he was murdered by some criminal he was pursuing, as he was a member of the American Detective Association.
