Fred W. Cole, son of Mrs. P. C. Walraven, of this city, is a street car conductor in Davenport, and last Sunday night had a little mix-up, from which he emerged with safety and credit. After midnight, while on his way to the office to turn in his cash, a stranger leveled a revolver at him and told him to hold up his hands. Fred grabbed the pistol, which was discharged in the struggle, and the assailant took to his heels. Cole’s hand was burned somewhat, but he was on duty all right the next day.
