George H. Slater, of Clinton, a brake man on the C. & N. W. Railway, while on top of a moving refrigerator car at Bertram, Saturday morning last, came to a collision with a projecting pipe from a tank, which struck him with such force as to break his neck and kill him almost instantly. He was buried at Clinton from the home of his aged parents on Monday.
