p.5, col. 2Calamus Man Is Badly Injured By Falling Tree
George Chase of Calamus is in a serious condition at Agatha hospital today as a result of a tree falling on him. He sustained a broken leg and arm, and an injury to the head, which is thought to include a fractured skull. Chase was chopping down a tree which fell across his body and his injuries were such that he was brought to this city at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The injury to his head is considered the most serious and his recover depends on that.
(Note: George survived his injuries, married and had three children, two of whom survived to adulthood)
