Merlin and Michelle Butt of Albany, Ill., are the parents of a son, Mitchel Alex, born Aug. 6 at Samaritan North Hospital, Clinton. He weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and measured 22 inches long.
Grandparents are Charles and Jean McSparin of Des Moines and Maurice and Alice Butt of Charlotte.
Great-grandmother is Edith Smither of Albany, Ill.
