Escape From DeWitt Jail

Austin Riley escaped from the jail at DeWitt, last week. He broke the padlock of the inner door, and either picked the lock of the outer door or had a key to fit it. He had been sentenced to five years in the penitentiary for stealing property at Lyons, in Clinton county. Sheriff Buchanan has offered a reward of $250 for his capture. Riley is an Irishman, about 35 years old, nearly six feet high, sandy complexion with a scar on his back, produced by a wound from a knife.
